About the Location:
Gir National Park, renowned globally as the sole natural habitat of the majestic Asiatic lions, also offers an exceptional experience for birdwatchers. Spanning 1,412 square kilometers, the park is situated near the Junagadh and Gir Somnath districts of Gujarat.
The park boasts a rich avian diversity, with over 300 bird species, both resident and migratory. Bird enthusiasts can spot a variety of species including the Indian Pitta, Paradise Flycatcher, Black-headed Oriole, Tickell’s Blue Flycatcher, Indian Roller, and White-bellied Drongo. Notably, Gir is also home to rare species like the Bonelli’s Eagle, Crested Serpent Eagle, and the endangered White-backed Vulture.
